5 Items Every New Mom Needs in Her Closet

Clothes to wear during breastfeeding can get tricky.  Finding the best clothes for breastfeeding in public and finding breastfeeding clothes that aren't maternity can leave you with limited options especially when tasked with finding affordable breastfeeding clothes (yikes!)  As a mom myself, I've been in your shoes and am sharing 5 items you should have at least one of in your closet.

1. Drape Front Nursing Tops & Sweaters $48

This item is probably my favorite wardrobe staple because it is the comfiest of the breastfeeding clothes and not maternity!  I love a great drape front sweater!  The one linked below is so so so soft, affordable, comfortable and versatile. You can wear them while you’re pregnant and because of the drape front they are a lifesaver after baby is born.

2. Wrap dresses & maxis $39

Wrap dresses can be found in so many different styles, colors and prints and are perfect for breastfeeding. It provides easy access for feedings and looks cute. The best thing about a wrap dress is how easy it is to adjust to your changing body post baby.

3. Off-the shoulder tops & dresses $44

Off the shoulder sweaters and dresses are right on trend and perfect for nursing mamas. Off the shoulder styles provide easy access for feedings (you can simply pull the top or dress down) and all you need is a quiet place and cover for nursing.

4. Dusters & long cardigans $39

I love dusters and long cardigans because it provides extra fabric for extra protection. I’ve even used it as a nursing cover/blanket when I forgot to pack mine. a long cardigan opens the door to adding functional tank tops into your wardrobe year round.  Dusters and long cardigans are cute, versatile and such an easy layering piece for any busy mother.

5. Nursing Scarf $34

The most versatile of the items listed because these 5 in 1 nursing scarves easily turn any top into something you can breastfeed in.  It also acts as a car seat cover, shopping cart cover, cute scarf, and high chair cover.  It doesn't take up any room in an already crowded diaper bag and literally goes with me everywhere.
