For most expecting moms, it's a challenge how to look and feel their best while showing off their bumps and adjusting to an ever morphing body.  Investing in the write clothes you can wear during and after pregnancy is important.  With all of the costs and expenses that come with parenthood the last thing you want is a wardrobe you spend a fortune on and then just discard once your bundle of joy arrives.  Finding work, casual, and party attire can often be a struggle.  Most pregnant mommies (including myself) have experienced a pretty hard time assembling great maternity outfits.

Luckily there are some fail proof tips and tricks to save yourself from the frusturating dilemma of dressing your bump.  Here are our top 7 tips in choosing maternity outfits.

1. PRIORITIZE COMFORT

Stay in your comfort zone and choose clothes and fabric that make you feel comfortable.  Soft cottons, long cardigans, tunic tops are all great starting points to feeling comfortable in every trimester

2. SIZING MATTERS

Chances are every month your body will change in some way.  We aren't suggesting you just order things 2 sizes bigger but look for clothes that offer stretch or an oversized fit.  Think slouchy sweaters, drape tops, pieces that wont suddenly stop fitting as your bump gets bigger.

3. LAYER, LAYER, LAYER

We call them completer pieces or that third layer.  Layering your outfit with a cardigan, coat, or vest is a great way to add instant chic to any outfit.  These are great especially with a bodycon dress.

4. LONGER LENGTHS

A little extra length goes a long way.  Look for midi's and maxis when creating a versatile maternity wardrobe.  Your belly drastically changes in size throughout pregnancy (obviously) and longer hemlines prevent you having to constantly rotate new items into your wardrobe.

5. ACCESSORIZE

If you aren't into accessorizing your look, during pregnancy is a great time to start introducing more accessories into your wardrobe.  Bump friendly accessories like jewelry, belts, scarves are great because they add an extra pop to any outfit and you can love them years to come after baby arrives

6. AVOID GETTING TOO TRENDY

Focus on Basics and avoid seasonal trends.  Trends come and go.  Focusing on solids, stripes, a wrap dress, good set of leggings, etc. will never ever go out of style

7. GET TECH SAVVY

Technology is crazy nowadays! I found it hard to get an honest look at what looked good on me and what was just an epic fail.  Then I found Amazons Style product and got a look into the good, the bad, and the ugly of what I was putting on my body.  Its amazing what a difference looking at a picture of you in the outfit vs looking in the mirror makes!
